Windependence Day Sunday 15th August 2021
Windependence Day marked the freeing of the windmill to turn to face the wind slowly moving around its track as the wind shifts. When it was operational this ensured that the sails always faced into the wind. Nowadays it means that the windmill is safe from being blown over, a risk should a strong wind blow side on to the mill.
Approximately 200 villagers and supporters enjoyed a fun filled Sunday afternoon to celebrate the event.
